Portslade – West Sussex

Completed on:01 Mar 2013 Location:Sussex Sector: Commercial / Industrial

When Parker Steel, one of the UK’s largest steel stockholders, were planning a brand-new steel processing plant on the south coast we were delighted to be part of the supply chain. The building was a triple span tied portal structure with a footprint of circa 150,000 ft₂. Located on the sea front of Portslade, near Brighton, a particular key consideration was the corrosive environment. We applied an enhanced paint specification to the frame to ensure it was fully protected from the elements. In addition, our package included the supply and alignment of the crane beams, and the supply and installation of the metal decking to the 20,000 ft₂ office and staff facilities space contained within a two-storey office block. Further works included, the supply, fabrication and installation of the service walkways, open mesh panels and hand railing.
